On my Laptop, I use Stellarium. http://stellarium.org/en_GB/ (I also use the mobile version on mobile and tablet) This is a free download and gives the night sky on your screen, you can Fast Forward to plan your night of observing. You can attach your telescope to it and have full control via laptop, this will need a couple of extra downloads and correct cables to attach but to some, this is an amazing thing to be able to do.
On my mobile and Tablet the applications i use are as listed below and again, can be found for free OR you can upgrade to a paid version should you wish to do so. (I use an Iphone, Ipad, Windows PC and Android Tablet, The apps below may not be available on one or the other)
